Tomorrow I'll start my first round of classroom lessons! I am really excited to get some face time with the students and begin to learn more about them. During the first lesson, I also use my time with students to do a needs assessment, especially with the older students. They are really self-aware and know what they need and want to learn from me.
Throughout the school year, I’ll visit each classroom every two weeks. Subsequent lessons will be based on student need and the American School Counselor Association’s Mindsets and Behaviors, which are school counseling’s national standards.
